Case Study: Creating Global Diversity Resource Groups Program

Client: Soundcloud

Company size: ≈300

Stakeholders: ERGs/DRGs, executive sponsors, and the People team

Geographies: Global (The US, Germany, the UK)

Objectives:

  • To empower the DRGs by creating a program that recognizes and rewards their contribution

  • To give them clarity and focus through a shared purpose and structure

  • To support their career development

  • To align the DRG strategy with product & business goals.

Client’s feedback:

Vessy.com successfully delivered on our objectives and managed to meet and balance the needs of a few very different project stakeholders: the DRGs, the executive sponsors, and the People team. I’d highly recommend Vessy.com for complex D&I and culture projects.

Julia Carloff-Winkelmann, VP People & Workplace, Soundcloud
Communication: The project plan was very well communicated. There was a step-by-step approach with coherent objectives and outcomes- the process was clearly outlined and the timeline well followed.

Flexibility: As we worked through the project, any changes were always met with flexibility and adaptability. The same was true when global events (George Floyd, BLM) demanded an additional focus of the project, Vessy.com was very quick to incorporate this into the project in an informed and functional way

Approach: The combination of data (in-depth company info and stats) plus “learning by listening” (13 x 1:1 interviews with a wide selection of stakeholders) meant that we received a proposal tailored to the needs of SC and it’s employees. Interviews were also an effective way of understanding other important DEI topics and issues affecting our employees.

Overall: Vessy.com’s program proposal allows us to better recognise DRGs’ contribution to DEI at SoundCloud and align our DRGs with our business goals! It’s been a pleasure and a great learning experience, looking forward to working hopefully together in the future!
